Από τους EPDM κόκκους σχεδόν το ένα τέταρτο αποτελείται από φυσικό καουτσούκ, το οποίο δίνει ιδιαίτερες ιδιότητες. Πρώτον, είναι υποαλλεργικό, δηλ. το υλικό μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί με ασφάλεια για την οργάνωση παιδικών παιχνιδιών και αθλητικών χώρων. Δεύτερον, δεν περιέχει τοξικά συστατικά. Το τρίτο πλεονέκτημα των ψιλοκομμένων EPDM, σε σύγκριση με παρόμοια υλικά, είναι η αντίσταση στην υπεριώδη ακτινοβολία και τις μεταβολές της θερμοκρασίας, επομένως η επίστρωση αυτής της ουσίας είναι κατάλληλη για χρήση σε εξωτερικούς χώρους.
Το Συνδετικό Υλικό είναι μια κόλλα πολυουρεθάνης που χρησιμοποιείται για τη δημιουργία επικαλύψεων για αθλήματα και παιδικές χαρές, μια διάταξη περιβλημάτων για ζώα, ράμπες και ούτω καθεξής.
